Wedding Checklist

You have booked the caterer, venue, officiant and photographer months ago, but now you need to focus on the physical items you need at your wedding. Some items you need to plan for in the months ahead like the decor. Other items like personal things or gifts can be purchased within the weeks leading up to the wedding. Making a list of the items can help you make sure you don't forget anything.

Ceremony

Planning for your ceremony is the most important aspect of your special day. You need flowers including bouquets, boutonnieres, rose petals (if needed) and corsages. Decorations for your ceremony should also be on your supply list as well as extras like heavy duty tape in case something comes loose, glue and scissors in case a piece of tulle or ribbon comes apart. Purchase something for the flower girl to put her flower petals in, a ring bearer pillow, guest book, photo checklist and a unity candle. And make sure you have the rings and especially the marriage license

Reception

Having the reception run smoothly can let your guests be at ease and you not worry about whether they are happy. Decorations including centerpieces, the cake table decor and lighting are important. Place settings including name cards, silverware, toasting glasses and regular glasses need to be on the supply list. Don't forget small details like a cake cutter, topper, a garter and a bird cage or other element for guests to put cards in.

Gifts and Favors

Giving out gifts to the bridal party and anyone else that helped out will show your appreciation for those people celebrating your wedding. Make sure you have gifts for all your bridesmaids and groomsmen, ring bearer, flower girl, guest book attendant and anyone else who was involved with the wedding. Also plan on how many guests are going to be at the wedding and make or purchase small favors for each of them to take home. This can include anything engraved with the date of the wedding or even bags of candy that sport the colors of your wedding.

Personal Items

Having personal items on you can make your day go smoothly. Bring extra straight pins, bobby pins, hairspray, makeup including powder, facial tissue, aspirin, deodorant, spare shoes, mints, comb and hairspray. Also remember to bring something small to eat before the ceremony and extra water, too. Always bring more than you'll need so that you're prepared.
